How to Get Involved: Make the World See the Value of Vision
Whether you are shaping policy, delivering care, investing in innovation or advocating for communities, there is a role for everyone in turning the value of vision into action. Explore how your organisation or sector can engage with the Global Summit for Eye Health and help drive commitments, partnerships and progress that lasts beyond 2026.
A Once-in-a-Generation Opportunity
In November 2026, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, in technical collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and supported by IAPB, will host the first Global Summit for Eye Health.
This is more than a meeting; it is a global call to action. With over one billion people living with avoidable sight loss, eye health is one of the most significant—yet solvable—challenges of our time. By addressing this, we can unlock a $447 billion annual boost to the global economy and ensure millions more children stay in school and adults remain in work.
Whether you are a head of state, a global CEO, a frontline clinician, or a grassroots advocate, your involvement is the key to transforming a shared vision into lasting action.
The Pathway to Impact: Landmark Commitments
The central goal of the Global Summit is to secure a new wave of ambitious commitments aligned with our Six Accelerators. These commitments will be formally recognised in the Summit’s official outcome document and featured on our global Commitment Portal.
We are asking all partners to Act, Allocate, and Accelerate:
- Act: Embed eye health into broader health and development systems.
- Allocate: Increase resources and explore innovative funding.
- Accelerate: Implement high-impact interventions to scale access quickly.
